But somehow it is different when it comes to celebrities. When celebrities get married, they do so with pomp and style. The length to which some of these stars go in their celebrations is forbidden ground for the average person. They are wealthy and one assumes that they can always get the kind of partner they want, go to the places that many may never have heard of, and do the things that are so absurd that you shake your head at their extravagance.
When eventually, there is news of a divorce, we watch in silent triumph as their near perfect world falls apart, because we feel that they need to experience pain like every other person. We find ourselves caught up in this reality TV show where even as they are wedded, we are already predicting their divorce. Recently, the rumour mill was agog with the news that Beyonce has divorced rapper hubby, Jay Z. This is the third time in three years their divorce has been rumoured. In 2008, mediatakeout.com and some other entertainment websites spoke of a public spat between Beyonce and Jay Z.
The rumours became ripe from a quarrel which was said to have ensued when the rapper went to Los Angeles with his wife Beyonce for a performance and allegedly said, “F*** that! Sorry Bey but f*** that, let's play something else," when the DJ played Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in love’ track. This was said to have annoyed the singer who then gave her husband a piece of her mind in public when he had gotten off the stage.
The latest divorce stories still exists as rumours and until verified, Bey and Jay are still married. This rumour, if it had been true, would not have surprised the public since divorce has become the status quo for a large number of Hollywood celebrities. The rate at which some of them rush into marriage sometimes determines how fast they will rush out of it.
